ORGATEC, the world-renowned platform for workplace innovation and design, opened its first-ever Indian edition today at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai. The debut marks a milestone for India’s fast-evolving commercial interiors and office solutions sector. Hosting 103 exhibitors from over 10 nations and anticipating more than 8,000 business visitors, ORGATEC India 2025 aims to reshape how the country envisions and experiences its work environments.

The opening ceremony was graced by an esteemed line-up of industry leaders including Nirupam Chaudhuri (Director, NASSCOM), Bharti Singh Kalappa (Head of Facilities, Noida International Airport), Sakhee Chandrayan (Founder & President, INBAC), Dr Mala Singh (Chairperson, IGBC – Mumbai Chapter), Makarand Kulkarni (CRISP Contributor & Senior Leader, Global Administration & Facilities Operations), Ajay Bhatt (CRISP Contributor & Group Head – Corporate Services, Godrej Industries Group), Oliver Frese (COO, Koelnmesse GmbH), and Milind Dixit (Managing Director, Koelnmesse India).

India’s office real estate continues its record growth trajectory, with Grade-A leasing surpassing 70 million sq. ft. in 2024. Demand for managed and flexible offices has surged 57% year-on-year, reflecting a decisive shift toward human-centric, sustainable, and tech-enabled work environments. As the nation advances along its USD 150-billion workspace transformation journey, ORGATEC India arrives at a pivotal juncture.

Nirupam Chaudhuri, Director, NASSCOM, highlighted “ORGATEC India brings together technology, design, and human experience under one roof. As work transcends fixed spaces, the need for intelligent and sustainable environments has become central to well-being and productivity. NASSCOM welcomes such collaborations that connect innovators and creators shaping responsible, future-ready workplaces.” Bharti Singh Kalappa, Head of Facilities, Noida International Airport, added “This platform brings together visionaries, designers, and leaders to co-create the workplaces of tomorrow. It’s a celebration of collaboration and creativity as India takes a leading role in redefining global work environments.”

Oliver Frese, COO, Koelnmesse GmbH, noted “With flexible and managed offices now representing nearly 20% of new leasing and over 70% of new completions being green-certified, India’s workspace ecosystem is evolving rapidly. ORGATEC India provides a global stage where innovation and sustainability meet.”

Milind Dixit, Managing Director, Koelnmesse India, remarked “The decision to bring ORGATEC to India reflects the country’s shift from cost-driven office development to value-based workplace investment. The office furniture market alone is projected to grow from USD 4.8 billion in 2025 to USD 7 billion by 2030, while corporate wellness already exceeds USD 2.5 billion. ORGATEC India aims to empower Indian decision-makers with direct access to world-class solutions.”

Sakhee Chandrayan, Founder & President, INBAC, said “ORGATEC India beautifully captures the intersection of heritage and innovation. It’s not just a continuation of a century-old legacy—it’s defining the future of intelligent and automated workplaces.” Dr Mala Singh, Chairperson, IGBC – Mumbai Chapter, emphasized “Workspaces must go beyond productivity to embody health, well-being, and environmental consciousness. ORGATEC India successfully redefines this narrative, fostering a shared commitment to sustainable development and responsible design.”

Makarand Kulkarni, CRISP Contributor, commented “Our focus at CRISP is on sustainable knowledge exchange and innovation within India’s facility ecosystem. ORGATEC’s arrival aligns perfectly with India’s vision for a smarter, more sustainable future by 2040.” Ajay Bhatt, Group Head – Corporate Services, Godrej Industries Group, observed “As the physical and digital worlds merge, ORGATEC India brings together the best in design, technology, and leadership to build the workplaces of the future.”
